Hello All from Lansing

Moved back to mid-Michigan after being in Georgia / Alabama for nearly a decade (work). Glad to be back. Curious on recommended shooting clubs / ranges that are conducive to self defense and/or practical shooting practice. For example, shooting bays which would allow a person to setup courses of fire and drawing from a holster (concealment or otherwise). I was lucky to have some great options in the south and looking for something similar here. Also curious if there are any recommended instructors / courses that are known in the area..

Personal interests include general training / practical practice with handguns, rifles, and some recreational shotgunning (sporting clays). Any opportunity for shooting competitions in the mid Michigan area would also be good (I’m nothing special but enjoy getting out to shoot). I also enjoy archery hunting in the fall.

While I cannot assist on all your requests, I do run a couple of winter indoor shooting teams that we are just getting ready to set up for the next winter season.

We shoot every week in and around the Lansing area and have a lot of fun.

I run a bullseye winter indoor pistol team and a 4 position smallbore rifle team and our home base is the MSU Demmer center.

Hmm mid MI might be a bit too far, I go to D-S-C (Detroit Sportsmans Congress) in the winter (Shelby TWP) and go to Island Lake during the summer (Brighton).
