    Remington 1100 (12 ga.) and 742 Woodsmaster (30-06)

A family friend is looking to sell some hunting gear and I thought I'd check as to value. I know pretty much the full value lies in the guns and gun accessories. I can't imagine there is much value (maybe $100 max) in the rest of the gear (clothing, blind, boots).

Let's assume the guns are in good shape. I know the 742 was used in the field, but only for a week each year during gun season. Both probably bought mid to late 70s.
From what I can see looking briefly, it looks like the value of the 742 carbine could be around $250-350ish. Current bids on gun broker range from $150-$375. Not too sure on the 1100 as there seems to be a lot of variation out there. What are your thoughts? Below are the details he sent me.

    1 - Remington 742 Carbine 30-06
    - Bushnell 3x9 power variable scope
    - sling
    - 2 clips
    - 2 and a half boxes Remington 30-06 shells

    2 - Remington 1100 12 ga
    - slug iron sight barrel
    - weaver 3x scope
    - shotgun sling
    - field barrel (mod choke)
    - 12 ga slugs
    - 12 ga buckshot

    3 - XL hunting coat w/hood
    - XL bib pants w/full side zippers
    - LaCrosse hunting boots (size 11)

    4 - Hunting blind - Ameristep Outhouse

I feel $500 is more realistic for the 1100. Condition is very important. Hopefully the scope was not mounted on a side saddle mount screwed into the side of the receiver. If so value drops.

The 742 has a bad rap for getting shot out. I love mine and think it's a value at $300....but you wont get much more...

The 1100 $450 to $800 depending upon overall condition. I have exactly the same settup...I paid $100 put thats a whole different story...
