Any work around like you can do it out of a buddies brake shop, or the back of your father in laws real estate office etc. Just if its a commercial property, and you have legit paper work they cannot really stop you, can they ?

Not many businesses want the hassle of the BATFE around...
Its interesting how not one of the elected officials or appointees even had a clue about the laws about firearms laws...

    Sure they can.

Regardless, BATFE won't say yes without the approval of the locals.

Do they not allow him to have a firearms business specifically? Or is it the act of running a home based business in general?

Depend on his zoning rules for a residential area, they may not allow any sort of home based business at all.

Really even if its a commercially zoned building that you personally own ?

Not being a wise ass, just asking, It does not seems that crazy, a gun range I could see people thinking its more than it is, but taking delivery legally, of a legal highly reglated product does not seem like they should be able to stop that.

I have a buddy that has a dental crown manufacturing business in Farmington Hills. He applied for an FFL out of his tooth factory, and was denied, because the building was zoned "commercial, no customers", and the local zoning wouldn't budge. The funny thing was the the ATF agent was really cool and asked where he lived at. He told him Farmington, right next door to Farmington hills. The agent said how about we change the application to your home address? Guess what, it went through without a hitch.

Yes, they really can. Some boards are certainly better than other, but it happens.
