I have, on occasion, used an SBR with a QD silencer as a "trunk gun". Or just throw it on the floorboard of the passenger side.
my grip plug holds in reduced size versions of the tax stamps and RI060 that show I have registered it as an SBR.

My thought process was mainly the concept of handguns carried on your body.

This is the reason for getting the Maxim 9 integrally suppressed pistol. The issue with most silencers on pistols is the length, even a small silencer is 6" long 1 3/8" wide. This increases the overall length of a compact pistol from 6-8" to 12-14". Theoretically, you could have a quick disconnect on the handgun and attach a silencer, but in a SD situation, who has the time.
