    GUN OIL

Been using Hoppes or Remoil forever. Just wonder if this synthetic stuff is any good.

Please don't. Buy a bottle of true synthetic 0w20 Mobil 1. Those tiny cans price/oz. Is outrageous

Sounds like decent advice. I always figured GUN OIL was a misnomer anyway. I just finished my last bottle of Hoppes & wondered if I should spend those big bucks they want for such a tiny bottle. Will be getting the Mobil 1 soon.

    Thanks

Was it Hoppes SOLVENT or OIL? There's a HUGE difference. No.9 to clean, Mobil1 to lube. The orange bottle of Hoppes OIL has been proven to just be drug store mineral oil.

I use Mobil 28 grease and Mobil 1. I only do a complete cleaning of all my guns once a year..about 1500 rds. Mobil 1 is great stuff.
