    LCP issue

My .380 Ruger LCP regularly stops firing after the second round due to my right thumb activating the magazine release button. The mag is left hanging partly out of the well. I've tried building up rubber material around the button but it still happens. Is there a stiffer spring under the button available to stop this malfunction? Ideas? Thanks.

Are you sure your thumb is doing it and the gun is not malfunctioning?

I have had two and my daughter has one they all have stiff springs. If your pistol has a real soft spring call ruger they have fantastic customer service. Ruger replaced a lcp that I wore out no charge, something the may also help is called Hogue handall slip on grip I highly recommend then for the lcp cost is under ten dollars. This.

It's not unheard of for mag catches to release under recoil when something isn't right...

Make sure the mag is slapped into place.

I had the same type problem with a Colt Mustang. Went to a mag with the pinky extension & it went away.

Possibly run a couple mags thru left handed. This will take your thumb out of the equation. If problem persists look at mechanical issues.

If problem persists disassemble the mag catch and check for burrs / grit etc. that may be preventing the catch from fully engaging the slot in the magazine body.
