Might want to check an ammo collectors site, unopened clean boxes might be desirable and have some value. Have some .45 acp from ww2, steel case in original boxes, valued around $30.

Follow up. I took a box of this ammo to a gun shop and they informed me that this has a corrosive primer. It is labeled "for military use only" since they tend to clean their firearms thoroughly after every use.

Military practices of cleaning has nothing to do with it.

US military started phasing out corrosive primers in the mid 40s'. US made M1 carbine ammo has never had a corrosive primer. Corrosive primers were completely out of the US mil supply chain by the early 60s'. Without actually dating the ammo, you have no way of knowing (US made ammo).

And the wording about "mil use only". Just as there are tons of misconceptions about "cop killer bullets" and "dangerous" hollow points, it was once believed that FMJ was just for military use because of the better performance on "hard" barriers or concerns of "over penetration". It means nothing.

The Remington UMC Bridgeport plant ceased production of fulminate of mercury and potassium perchlorate in 1929. Peters was just a brand name for Remington UMC. Remington Lanoke never produced fulminate of mercury or potassium perchlorate.

Your ammunition would have to have been produced prior to 1930 to have been corrosive.
