When traveling, it's always a good idea to check out each state's gun laws. Some have some pretty ignorant stuff that can get you in real trouble. Being ignorant yourself will not help you.

It would be helpful if you could list several examples.

Texas 30-06 and 30-07 signage laws

Virginia "Tuck", that one changed but it used to be a law.

    New Jersey hollow point laws.

Any State that has a mag capacity law or laser sight law.

Not my job to do any research for you. But one of the states I visited on a trip West this spring has a law on the books that says it's ok to carry a concealed pistol in a rest area. But not legal to carry same gun IN the rest area buildings.

You must not have your permit entered properly.

Just click on Michigan and click on states honored.

In addition to this you can have a loaded pistol in your car through Illinois.

Obviously, that's what I did wrong. Thanks for clarifying.

Because I forgot about it and I usually use the app when on my tablet.

You're fine to Arkansas unless you go through Illinois, in which case either don't get out of your car or unload and lock it up while in IL.
Tribal land is another matter entirely; many have very strict anti-gun laws, and I have yet to find a map-style resource that compiles them like these other links. This could be a factor nearer the Arkansas end of your journey. Personally, I just watch my speed a bit more carefully when passing through posted reservations.

Also important to know is "duty to inform" laws, which vary state to state. They change less frequently, and I believe this one remains up to date:

    Safe travels!
    Awesome. Thank you much.

You could also call the state police in states where you’re going and find out if they can confirm your research befor you go. Take the name of the person who you spoke with along with the number you called.

Is the goal here to get accurate information? If so, the state police isn't a good source.

Are you saying having the name and number of who you spoke to will accomplish something?
