    Delayed at dunhams

    Hey everyone,

So on black friday i went into dunhams because they had the Remington 1911 on sale for like 300$ off.

When we did the nics check i got a delay (not uncommon for me) so i went on about my business and waited about a week. i never got a call so i called up to them.

They advised they still haven't heard back from it and they don't release the firearm until they've heard back, regardless of the after 3 days release law.

I'm never had an issue like this before. Anyone else gone through this?

    This is Dunham's corporate policy.
Even though they can complete the sale after 3 days of a "Delay" status, they don't.

Have you considered obtaining a UPIN?

This is how Dunhams does it. They will not proceed after three days without a denial.
I don't know if nics calls back after a delay with a proceed or denial, but Dunhams has
    basically round filed the process.
If you go back and try again, they might re-run nics. However, the sale is probably over.

Dunhams, and several other larger stores don't accept your CPL in lieu of the NICS check. And they are not required to either.
