I think when they changed the registration from 4 part to 3 part, they said that the local PD's aren't allowed to keep record anymore, and they are ONLY authorized to enter it electronically and send it to the MSP

If all they do is "enter it electronically" why not just cut out the middleman & do it ourselves?

Northville PD apparently can't keep track of how many guns I get bored of and sell.

Their system has guns under my name that I haven't owned in 8+ years, and there are quite a few guns that I KNOW I gave them paperwork for that for some reason were never actually registered to me.

They are required under 28.422(6) to forward them to the MSP, and that is after entering the information electronically, if they can.
The law says nothing about what the MSP does with them.
The law also has no penalty for failure on either of their parts.
