After reading this a little more closely, I have some serious reservations about supporting this. The age bothers me. This should be 18, not 21.We allow 18 year olds to purchase shotguns and rifles; there is no reason for the age to be 21. Furthermore, there is a section that states: "(5) An authorized dealer or other person who sells a device that uses electro-muscular disruption technology to an individual described in subsection (2)(C) shall verify the individual's identity and verify that the individual holds a valid concealed pistol license issued under section 5b of 1927 PA 372, MCL 28.425b..." I don't see the purpose of this language if subsection (2)(A) allows anyone over 21 to purchase one.

One portion is talking about stun guns, the other portion is talking about tasers. You still need the CPL for a taser, not for a stun gun.

Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

CPL check, now say I want to get a tazer...do I have to get zapped by it like the cops do in training (which it funny, because they aren't required to get shot in order to carry a firearm)?

They can pass it but I won't count it as a "win" and I'm not thanking anyone for it.

There is another piece of very important info in there too.

    1/8/2020 Expected in
HJ 1 read a second time
    1/8/2020 HJ 1 Pg. 18 substitute (H-1) adopted
1/8/2020 HJ 1 Pg. 18 placed on third reading
They passed an H1 substitute bill, all that that does is lower the 21yr age to 18yr.
It has been read a second time and will be read for a third time soon. Urge you Representative to vote YEA!

Missed the substitute. I called her office to object to the bill leaving out 18- 20 aged citizens. I'll support it, now.
