There's a ton of posts on magpul pmag issues on AR15.com, I think the recommendation was some minor filing or fitting, I was shocked to say the least.

you sure that your mag release isnt installed a little too tight? or the bolt release is out of spec?

    Like mentioned, try another BCG.

I'll assume the mag catch is in spec and fits into the pmag's cutout since you can get it to lock with bolt open.

Is the mag tight as sin after the bolt goes forward?

Okay, spent some time on the issue just now. They will seat on a closed bolt now even with 30rds in them with a helluva whack on the mag base. When downloaded to 28rds instead of 30 it can be pushed in by hand and pull checked. It seats fine when empty. I guess it is all good to go. Guess, I was pussyfooting it the other day. All my mags work fine now. Sorry fellas.

Full mags on a closed bolt can certainly require a good whack to seat. Pretty common. Don't be afraid to really whack them mags.

I was told on the other hand, that really jamming the mag in, is the opposite of what you want to do on an ar-15..Not sure if its valid or not.

The other question worth asking is how new is this rifle? Ive found that 1000 rounds down the pipe, and a good lube, will clear up most "issues" with newer guns. gotta let it break in.
