Michigan High Power Rifle Association is seeking juniors between the ages of 12 and 21 interested in learning about 3 position known distance high power competition. Our goal is to coach and train our junior shooters to become proficient marksmen capable of being independent competitors as well as part of a team. We hope to have enough shooters ready to field a team at Camp Perry during late July / beginning of August. Ideally we need 5 more juniors to comprise a team of 8.

if you have a junior who would be interested in finding out more please feel free to contact me. We will start them out with indoor smallbore @ Monroe Rifle & Pistol Club in Dundee on Wednesday evenings. There will also be a HP clinic at Monroe @ the end of April. Once comfortable with positional shooting and sling use we will transition to Monroe’s 200 yard outdoor range with the AR platform. The last step will be firing from position (standing & sitting @ 200, Prone @ 300 and Prone @ 600 yards) over full course.

No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn. All equipment is initially provided and if this is something they wish to stick with we can help outfit them.

There is is an abundance of shooting opportunity in Michigan for this discipline. We currently have 3 juniors between 15 and 18 who have competition experience including participation at Camp Perry in both adult and junior matches.
