Excellent development. But our governor is unlikely to sign it.
On closer examination, there doesn't appear to be any reference in the text about open carrying. I've noticed that many bills carry language in the description that doesn't show up in the actual language of the bill. Maybe the dems will somehow think that the open carry loophole for concealed carriers is being eliminated and vote for it.
Sometimes gun owners are their own worst enemies. The bill gives up nothing and makes a big improvement. For a $100 CI many CPL holders would just conceal carry in those zones.
Arizona tried something similar before permitless carry, they tried to reduce carrying without a permit from a misdemeanor to a parking ticket CI.
Didn't we just raise the penalty for carrying concealed without a permit?

This is definitely a cheaper route than getting licensed as a PI, insurance/bonded, etc., in order to be PFZ exempt.
