Gander Outdoors. that's the new company. There one in Port Huron.

Seems like someone told me that the old Gander in Lansing was going to reopen as something else? Another sporting goods store?

I think I received an email from Gander Outdoors stating they were going to reopen in Lansing, but that was over a year ago.

I remember talking to the guys at that Gander store when it was liquidating everything and they made it sound like there would only be a brief delay as the ownership changed hands. I'm sure they were fed a line of BS about what the "plan" was.

When the original Lansing Gander Mountain store was closing down, the speculation was that the store would reopen as Gander Outdoors, but that didn't happen. There have been a few news articles indicating Sportsman's Warehouse will open in that location, perhaps by summer. Here's a link to one of the stories (or search for Sportsman's Warehouse Lansing).

The only one that I’ve been to was up in Anchorage, AK. The store was awesome, put Cabelas and Bass Pro to shame. Just as it’s name implies, it’s like walking into a warehouse for anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping etc. Prices are reasonable and it’s not packed full of overpriced branded Cabela’s or Bass Pro items.

If you want to see what their stores look like inside, go to google maps and search for Sportsman’s warehouse. Find one and look at the pictures posted.

Sportsmans Warehouse won't be coming back to Michigan anytime soon. They had a store in Allen Park 11 years ago that lasted less than a year. It was a great place to work but the customers never came.

They had some good deals, but online shopping is way better.
I think most stores will go under pretty soon.
