    Yeah, but that was 40+ years ago and metallurgy has improved dramatically since then. Hell, the limit in J-frames nowadays is more the shooter than the gun. For a modern gun to be limited in quantity is just plain strange.

    BTW
    The M19s ability to handle a stead diet of 357 was questioned almost as soon as it hit production. I recall hearing it back in the late 60s and my dad reloading what were basically 38 plus P in his 357 cases because of it as his practice load.
    38 cases and loads were left to be fired only in 38 spcl chambers to prevent chamber mouth fouling and erosion.
