Is the Birchwood Casey line good for this? Such as the Super Blue.
I want to touch up some screws after stoning rough spots. Screwdriver slips, etc.

The Super Blue has worked well, for this, for me.
I generally de-grease with starting fluid, then heat
the parts (hair dryer, heat gun, butane torch, etc..)
just hot enough I can still handle them.
I rinse them with hot water.
Usually three times then heat and dry the parts, then
oil them.
Works good.

Depending on the color you are looking for flame blueing is pretty easy as well, you can find all kinds of videos on YouTube.
I have done it on several small parts with great results
Yes it works great. Just make sure you clean them thoroughly with acetone or mineral spirits before you blue them.
I have used the Brownells Oxo-Blueing with great results.
Agree with what was said above
1. Clean thoroughly (I used break cleaner and compressed air)
2. Heat up the parts
3. Use a clean cotton ball or towel. Clean...clean....clean
A trick I found out that worked well is to use some 3 or 4 X steel wool between passes. This will even out the color as well as do other things I'm sure. But it worked well. Great trick for blending.

Super blue is a great project. I have done complete rifles very successfully. Rub on blueing with a rag. Rinse in water. Buff with 0000 steel wool. Repeat until you like it. Apply light coat of oil. Very rewarding.
I have a bottle of super blue due here by Friday.
Thanks
Myk
