    Real Avid Armorer’s Master Wrench

I need to get set up with AR15 tools. What's the value of the Master Wrench?
Is it worth the sixty bucks?
    Anything better out there?

I guess it depends on how many "stock" AR's you'll be working on. I have a generic 'Armorers Wrench' (and they all seem to cost in the $60-$80 range, LOL) and the only thing I've used it for was to tighten Castle Nuts. All my uppers came with their own barrel nut wrench (Aero Precision), and I prefer large 3/4" Box End Wrenches for muzzle devices (because I can tape them up easier). On the flip side, I guess having the wrench would be a good idea, just in case. Wheeler Engineering offers some decent tools - if you have any LE or Mil paperwork, they are discounted on the 'Expert Voice' marketplace web site.

I picked one up when they were on sale for $30 recently. It is nice and heavy. Not a bad wrench, but for $60 I’d probably be more critical.

    I got this:
    https://www.opticsplanet.com/tapco-a...-tool0905.html

and a separate hammer with adjustable heads and weights (might be a two hammer set? cant remember) same brand though:

    https://www.opticsplanet.com/wheeler...er-711016.html

https://www.opticsplanet.com/pro-mag...ise-block.html also a great idea, it sits in the magwell of the lower, and clams into your vice.

I got that after I picked up this:
    https://www.midwayusa.com/product/10...se-block-clamp

it works for uppers, but honestly I used it very little. I guess its a "good to have on hand", but not necessary. the mag vice block, wrench, and hammer totally are necessary.

https://www.tacticalwholesalers.com/...iABEgJtkvD_BwE << this is a big time saver if you want to avoid sending pivot pin parts across the room or into your eye. Can be had at cabelas locally.

I sprang for this punch set:
https://www.tekton.com/gunsmith-punch-set-66564 when Meijer ran a Tekton BOGO. I got that and their 6" swivel bench vice for something like $60 out the door but even a basic punch set will do, as long as you get the right sizes.

If you shop around, you can likely find them cheaper, but opticsplanet.com free shipping (and their always-active coupons) make for a good deal if you do one large order of everything you need.

I have a set of roll pin starter punches that I have found valuable to have, too. Also, a handguard removal tool is nice to have.
