For 2019, Michigan Rifle & Pistol Association’s Long Range Division made the investment in etargets by purchasing 10 Shotmarker etarget systems. MRPA and Michigan F T/R members invested a substantial amount of time building frames, setting the system up and calibrating prior to introducing them into competition at MTC at the Michigan 1000 Yard State Championship on May 4 & 5, 2019. Over the course of 2 days 25 competitors, a mix of traditional (sling) T/R shooters, F Open, and F T/R competitors fired in excess of 2500 shots on the 10 targets. The systems performed flawlessly outside of one setup error with 2 mixed wires on one target. Not a single shot failed to record the entire weekend and the system performance exceeded expectations.
I personally wish to thank MRPA, Bret Solomon (MRPA LR Director) and Michigan F T/R team members for the investment in money and time to make this a reality.
Etargets are the wave of the future for Bullseye type competition. Midland County Sportsman’s Club has been using etargets for the past 3 years and recently switched from Silver Mountain to Shotmarker. WSC has purchased Shotmarker systems and will be using them for 3X600 matches in 2019 and beyond. BWSA HP has received approval to invest in Shotmarker systems for 2020. When not being used by MRPA LR the MRPA etargets will be deployed at Cadillac Sportsman’s Club Prone matches.
The next opportunity to fire on the systems will be:
