    Cool 22 rifles

I've got a fair amount of 22 stacking up and I know there are cool and cheap 22 semi autos like the mp40, hk416, stg44, ak47, AR 15 and even belt fed machine style guns off 10/22 receivers, what are some of the best neat 22s?

Not sure if we are on the same wavelength but the cool 22 rifles that I have mostly are bolt actions or single shots, able to castrate a fly at 50 yards.

    Check out the Winchester 52's
    Kimber 82g,
    CZ's
    Anschutz,
    Walther
    Feinwerkbau

The semi autos, except for a couple of highly modified 10/22's, simply are unable to match the accuracy that makes them so interesting.

A friend has a Henry Golden Boy in .22. Very smooth action and very fun to plink with. Also accurate and it would make a nice hunting gun.

    I’m a fan of these types too, owning CZs and a modified 10/22. I would add though;
    Styer Zephyr
    Winchester 1884
    Voodoo arms
    Rem M 40x
    Rem M 513t
Browning SA22 fits in there too for no reason other then because of the sex appeal and fun factor it had on me as a kid shooting an uncles

I have a couple of Remington 572's and a Rossi 62 (which is a take-down "gallery gun") that has been threaded for a suppressor and has some awesome double-ring sights on it (think biplane fighter sights). Those always make me smile.

But you said semi-auto, so for me that's my threaded, stainless, 10/22 takedown with a Magpul Backpacker stock and Brimstone trigger job. Buy a GSG 110 rd drum for it and you can plink
    pretty endlessly.

A good runner-up would be my dedicated .22 LR AR. Mine has a cheap red-dot on it but I've been eyeing the Primary Arms 1-6x24 tacticool optic with the .22LR calibrated ACSS reticle. I like to fill five or six magazines and slaughter some steel plates on the cheap.

Marlin 39 lever action. Levers are always fun and it's a top quality very accurate 22.

Fir me fun 22 or any rimfire would be one with some nice peep sights, and a scoped rimfire, maybe a 17 hmr or 22mag.

If you like the famous battle rifle clones on a 22 receiver there are a bunch, pull pups, all sorts.

22 is more fun pushing to see what you can do, hunting small game, shooting bottle caps, match sticks, Domino's, etc at distance.

My "most fun" .22LR was my GSG-5 for a few years, until I got a JBM Bullpup aluminum stock for my 10/22. It has been an absolute blast, especially in steel challenges.
