    Supressor cleaning

Took my Rugged Obsidian apart for the first ttime to clean it. I had a real har time getting the baffles apart.
Read the owners manual, said to use long end of allen wrench to pry it apart. It worked on one of them but
still had a couple more to go, so I ended up using a paint can opener. It acts like a minnie pry bar in between the baffles.
Just thought Id let you know in case you have trouble like I had getting them apart.
Also soaked it in some simple green and water mixture.

Get yourself an ultrasonic cleaner. When the baffles fight, you just throw the whole can in the ultrasonic.

may not be recommended for some aluminum suppressors. I have a couple of gemtech where they say specifically not to use water to clean them.

So when you use ultrasonic cleaner you do not have to take apart baffles at all?

You never need to clean Centerfire silencers. Only .22 silencers.

The only reason they come apart is because internet commandos wanted it to.
They are quieter when they are dirty also.

Any silencer that you shoot unjacketed/uncoated bullets through will need cleaning. Dont shoot cast lead or 22LR through anything you don't want to clean.

    This.

And you obviously failed to do the silicone treatment on yours when you got it.

Nope, that suppressor was replaced with a new one for free.
If you own a MG rental place and can afford to put over 1 million rounds through a can, you get a new one free.

That shows about $200,000 worth of ammo shot through it full auto.
