It'll work if you can find a really blunt bullet that will meet the COL limits of the magazine you're using. Some 358 bullets will leave the case mouth over the ogive even when loaded as long as what will feed through a magazine with a 1.71" case length. Making the case 1.8" will just magnify the issue unless you also increase the maximum COL somehow. Now for the 444 x 1.8", that will feed in an ar15 based off of 30-06 type cases using sp and hp bullets. FTX bullets are too long unless you remove the red tip. Use a 22-250 bolt and extension and you can match 444 velocities with 225gr-265gr bullets.

Kak has a .358 Legend barrel in stock, stating it is meant for those who reload .357-.358 rifle bullets.

PTG has a reamer for .358-AR available.

Deadshot barrels has informed me via email that they are waiting on a reamer that will allow the use of .358 rifle bullets as well.

If any of these will accept 35 rem bullets will depend on the shape of the bullet. Neck reaming 350LEG brass will most likely be needed if they are to work. I've seen pics of .357 bullets loaded in it, and case bulge is a problem.

However, see molemans post above. He is the Guru of all things .357AR and hence 350 Legend. Winchester basically stole and then modified his work just enough to make things proprietary to them. Case OAL magazine restrictions will impact what is feasible to load even if the chamber is modified to accept .35 rifle bullets.
