    Sighting in

Was at the cabin for a few days & took my NEF single shot to finally sight in the scope.

Didn't think a .223 would go right through the steel gong like that. Must not be AR500, it's a 3" probably rated for 22 LR.

Bought a bunch of ammo last year. Had a hundred loose .223's. I have the brass, will check the head stamp. Seemed normal to me when I was shooting them.

For the money, it is actually quite nice. Had no problem getting it sighted in with a green bore sighter. The paper showed a dozen or so towards the end of the session. A click or 2 put me right on the red.

Overall, this is a very cool little gun. Would make for a great SHTF rifle if that's all there was around. I do have a sort of love affair with single shot guns. If I could ever find one, they MADE the same rifle in 500 S&W. How cool would that be ?

How thick is that gong & what range did you shoot it at?

I'd guess it's 3/8". What range? You mean how far? Maybe 50'.

Sorry, I don't know what DP is.

Checked the markings on the brass. A few were clearly marked Winchester .223. The others just had some numbers & letters around the rim. One had, L,C,8,0. The other one was, W,C,0,4,6. This one had red primers. All FMJ. Have no idea which was the 2 that I shot at the little gong. I am assuming they were re-loads.

I have learned that .223 needs to be at 100 Yds to save my gongs & backstop.

I really like 250 Yds better.

50' maybe for the shotguns but not real rifles.

    DP was double post.
    don't know why that happened.
