    Moving supressors to another state

How does one notify the ATF you are moving to another state with your suppressors?

    one doesn't.
Suppressors are NOT items that require prior notification.
    see this...
A registered possessor of an NFA firearm, other than an FFL/SOT, may not lawfully transport in interstate or foreign commerce any destructive device, machinegun, short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled rifle, without prior written approval of ATF, specifically the NFA Branch. -ATF source
Notice that it does not say suppressor/silencer as they are not actually firearms.

This isn’t the reason. AOWs are also not on that list and they are clearly firearms. You don’t need a 5320.20 for a silencer or an AOW.

The NFA branch is going to want your updated address once you move. You should just call them and ask them how they want the update. Most likely a letter.

Please be sure they are legal in the state you move to.

The NFA Branch will tell you to submit a letter including your serial number to update the NFA registry, but you are not required to do so for suppressors.

You're not required to. SO DON'T.

The end. Stop. Quit overthinking it. You don't have to, so DO NOT.

Do gooders going above and beyond is how the arm brace was legal, wasn't, was, wasn't, NFA, not NFA.

I'm surprised to see RCT posting, after their credibility was destroyed on here, and they outed themselves on charging taxes that weren't required, and were none of their business. Making up values for an out of state MG deal, and then charging sales tax on the value THEY magically came up with. When it wasn't required by any law at the time anyway. Sent a LOT of customers to Coctailer and ZYA after they mentioned that.

Hey midlandshooter, I forgot to ask before, what’s the name of the gun shop you own? Just curious I didn’t see it in your profile.

NFA branch is odd for sure. It’s always been weird to me what they require and what they would simply prefer.

It’s funny you mention braces, I was at an ATF sponsored training for FFL holders last month and the director of the NFA branch was there and the topic of braces on pistols came up. if I posted what we were told about braces, everyone here would say I was lying and flame me. It was not good news at all. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds...

SCOTUS took care of any tax concerns on out of state sales so it’s a moot point now anyway.

However, I do enjoy how stories take on lives of their own and the facts change of over time...

    All my best.

Silencers and AOW, you do not notify.

I don't own a shop either, but I've proven many shop owners and employees wrong too.
Gotta side with MLS here. I also remember you posting some things which were most politely described as Brashly Spurious.

I have it on good authority.
In other news, during this move process, pistols and rifles went wrapped and locked up with with the movers. SBRs went to a trustee pending ATF paperwork. AOW (the one you sold me) and silencers went in a ~30" tac bag with pouches pouches pouches. They'll probably just go in the trunk WITH ME on the trip.
