yes. Walther. A PPQ45 as I said, is a remarkable gun to shoot and hold. So ergonomic it's crazy.

The Beretta PX4 Storm is worth considering. It has a rotary barrel locking system which provides a much different recoil sensation than the Model 1911s. It seems to cycle much more rapidly than a 1911. It has conventional DA/SA lockwork with a good - not terrific - trigger feel.

It is a bit thick for daily carry, but a fine shooter. Mine is both reliable and accurate.

Nice price on that West German P220. Everybody needs at least one of those.

Also had a thought about a CZ97 but I think they're pretty scarce right now.

I have an XDS that I carry in the cold months. Really like something in a full size to be used mostly as a range toy. Around $700 max. Don't have an issue with well cared for used guns.

    Suggestions ?
Purchased a Sig full size 1911 STX model in 45 cal.Love it,little salty on price $1,000 bucks.

My vote would be a gently used HK45.
Soft recoil and good, low bore axis. Plus built like a tank and can handle a 45 Super if so inclined.

+1 on this, but you can pick up new ones for $650
