    Pistol values ?

My friend, Tom, is trying to find the value of a couple of pistols that his aunt has, & would like to sell.
Note: I'm not offering them fore sale..just want an idea of values..
    1. S&W revolver MOD 36. .38 special, 1967

    2. Colt MOD 1908 hammerless. 25 cal. w/leather holster

from the pics Tom sent, both these pistols look to be like new condition, (will very nice bluing)
Thanks again for any helpful information.

Get some pics, it will help identify some specifics.

Per Blue Book of Gun Values,

    The S&W is around $600.

The Colt 1908 is anywhere from $600 to $750 depending on condition.

I tend to find the Blue Book values a bit on the high end, compared to what I see these guns actually selling for.

FWIW, Williams has two 1908 Colts for about $400 each (http://shop.williamsgunsight.com/sproducts.aspx?srch=y)

Neither of which I would really classify as being in good shape. They are a neat little gun though. Hopefully one day I'll have a 1908 and a 1903 to go along with it!

If Williams has them for $400 each, they're probably worth twelve bucks. Williams turns overpricing into an art form.

Go to Guns International, the lister there post what they want for their guns.

Many different shops, so the prices will vary, but will give you an idea of what
different makes and models sell for.
Remember if a gun is rare the prices will be high no matter the condition,
Also note Cabela's will quote a very low price no matter what the gun is.
And if you buy from them all their stuff is excellent condition commanding
    new in the box prices.
