Gander Outdoors closing all MI stores

I live close to Marquette. We have lost MC Sports, Dunhams, now Walmart and Gander Outdoors(which was the only true sporting goods store). Have a LGS in Ishpeming, and a newer very small LGS in Harvey(guns/ammo only). No true sporting goods stores in the near area. Closest Dunhams is in Escanaba. Closest Cabelas is in Green Bay, would rather drive to Gaylord for Jays. I think Lemoines saw the future, the pressure on Walmart, the political crap and decided to avoid the hassle and get out early. I think all the Big Boxes, stores where guns/sporting goods is just a department, will be going the way of Walmart.
I emailed Jays, begging them to open a location in Marquette.
It is really bad for the area.

Fort Gratiot (Port Huron area) store closed as of today...

Last time I stopped in (3 days ago), 60% off all except guns/ammo/clearance...20% off them.

I do think they raised the prices on guns to make up any loss though... didn't seem like really good prices...even with the discount.

Last few days were 70% off general stuff, 25% off guns, ammo, clearance and optics, 80% off all marine stuff including clearance. Would have grabbed a bunch more if I know Sunday was the last day. They had some Pettit rust treatment for $5 a qt but didn't have a basket lol.

I saw a guy grab a sig mpx k fde for 1207 out the door and that was a pretty good deal. They seldom go on sale and the cheapest it was on gun.deals was 1550ish. The sig scopes with 60% or 70% off were also a deal. There were deals, but you had to search for them. The 80% off marine stuff was also a deal.

Utica Dropped firearms/ammo to 20% and clearance is now 40% off.
