80-100 locations like the Pit? Where are the rest of them?

I found one this summer around the Hale area. Completely unmarked and not on any map I’ve seen. Though there was a line out the gate on memorial and Labor Day, usually busy on saturdays too.

Thats how they do things, they spend 250k on some stairs that anyone who builds decks could do for 6k, john stossle book that is older than ten years old one of the national parks has a big outhouse with a dirt floor that cost 1 mill.

I know a local park that spend either 250k or a half mill on a trex deck pier, it had a 30 year guarantee and started cracking in like 3-4 years. They spent 50k on consultants to confirm the product was faulty.

The $750 K is from the same grant package spent already on Echo Point, the DNR got a large sum to spend statewide on range improvements.

Yes, by all means, follow the money. You can start with the Rino-Rep Gary Howell. All of the crap with the pit has been since he took office in '16 and started to listen to the squeaky wheel.

The article also acknowledged that this is still dependent on the next budget.... They don't have the money yet.

You have to read between the lines on this one, the money is available and can be spent-it’s the impending lack of a State budget agreement and looming statewide shutdown that would block it (any other State funds for any reason) from being spent-aside from emergencies.

My thoughts exactly. $100,000-$200,000 sounds generous. $750k? That's insane.

Ha! Last time I visited the liberty pit some idiot started a fire in the national forest with tracer rounds. They fled the scene before the DNR, NFS, and local FD got there.
