Thanks Will, looking forward to being able to shoot again. Only been a couple weeks but seems much longer. Will be glad to get this big ole bandage off.
Haven't been out all that much. 9mm XDS in my left vest pocket with a zipper has worked ok so far.

When I was in my teens and mid 20s I suffered multiple boxer fractures in my right and left hand from fighting..
When I was in my early 30s I had surgery on my right hand, waited 7 weeks then in my left hand... basically I am glad I didn’t have any issues but it took a long time to recover my hand strength..
My advice is find a gun with a laser.. it’s no ideal but my problem isn’t shooting left handed because of my hand but because of my eyes.. I’m so right eye dominant that it takes longer to line up the sights from across my body..
It’s not ideal but if you have to do something then it’s better than nothing
what is your status ?
Went shooting last week. Shot a Taurus X22, ran 100 through that. Had 2 brand new guns that had not been shot yet so I took them along. Beretta M9, & a Sig Sauer target 1911 in 9mm. Couple boxes though them. Everything went pleasantly well. Not quite ready to break out the Ruger Alaskan in 44 mag yet,
Having some discomfort still. Doing exercises at home. No more nerve going to sleep. Satisfied with that part of the procedure. Still have arthritic pain & stiffness. Also have trigger finger in the ring finger of my right hand. No big deal, but could become annoying if it gets any worse.
Back to carrying Springfield XDS in 9mm. 5 shot revolver with 38 +p next to my chair.
Seeing the surgeon again next week. Hope he says I can resume shooting on a weekly basis.
If you have symptoms & it's becoming more than you want to deal with, I do recommend the release surgery. Pm me for my great Dr's #
