There is no reason a CPL should expire, it should be lifetime. If you do something illegal all they have to do is take it away, but why would it ever expire? Same for a driver's license.

MSP publishes the cost and revenue of CPLs. They're actually making a profit. I don't know what can be said of the SoS but bringing in money doesn't always equal making a profit.

    I think it is brainwashing/conditioning.

Drivers license = privilege = pay for it

Voting = right = don't pay to do it

CPL = privilege = pay for it

They are not going to let this go through.

They seem to be reviewing an H1 substitute, but didn't publish that. The second (actually the third) analysis alludes to leaving $30 to the counties for their portion of the processing.

The first one, no longer there: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/docume...8-E2A78A1C.pdf

Not that it has any bearing on the situation but I received my Arizona renewal notice in the mail... $43.

If Whitmer signs this it would make her more conservative than her predecessor.

    Good Morning All.

In a perfect world we would not have to pay a fee to exercise our right(s).

However, in light of recent events. A little birdie told me (I cannot take credit, and cannot give credit at their request because of their occupation) that we should contact our representatives and state that our CPL fees should be lowered as the CPL's are not as valuable now that they can no longer used to purchase a firearm. In light of the recent ATF letter that went out last week.

Actually, in light of recent developments, we shouldn't have to renew - the CPL should be a lifetime license.
    Lighten up Francis.
