I believe they are all made by Walther/Umarex or GSG (German Sport Guns).

I have used and abused my sr22 since it came out without an issue. It has at least 20k rounds through it and it hasn't complained. It has introduced many new shooters to pistols and been abused at many pumpkin shoots with friends carving jack o'lanterns lol. I would get the long barrel, it's not that much longer overall but the added separation between the sights is nice.

I love my Mk III 22/45, but since they are a no go to your friend, I also vote for the Buckmark Camper. I bought my wife a Buckmark Camper , and put Altmont grips on it at the same time I bought my 22/45. I would have a very hard time getting rid of either gun, and both seem to digest anything we put through them.

Both guns gently used were in the $300 range, so won't break the bank either.

I just picked up a MK IV Target SS, and love it! It’s take down is so simple compared to my old MK II 22/45, it’s not funny. I was shooting some ammo with my 22/45, that my friends SW 22A would just not cycle. Not sure if the ammo was to weak to cycle the action on the Smith, but the Ruger ate it up. To bad your buddy has ruled out the MK series....

same thing, he doesnt like the looks, I am going to work on him, break his spirit convince him this is the way to go, or at least try. These are the the superior design, and most reliable, and he is not having it.

Ohh well he is pretty logical in other things.

He asked for my advice ... then didnt like the answer.

I saw it on Cocktailer's desk when buying a suppressor. It followed me home. Just a fun gun to shoot. Super comfortable in my big mitt. My wife liked it so much that she tried claiming it.
    Tried claiming it?
    TRIED???
Just where, exactly, is your wife???

I use my Ruger SR22 for my CPL loaner in my classes, has been absolutely reliable. I really like the Beretta M9-22(Umarex), since I have the M9, the M9-22 is an exact replica. If you want a full size, try it(good capacity too).
