    I used to have an AR pistol with an 11"ish barrel that had the same issue, I stuck one of the Kaw Valley linear comps on it:

    I read where those "blast forward" muzzle devices reduce the noise level but actually make a bigger "FLASH" than anything else. (See post #3). The OP's post was: "AR Pistol excessive flash" I think he's trying to reduce the flash.

    The Smith Vortex will eliminate your flash. It did so even on my 7 inch ARs.

    Everything else is second best, unless you're installing a can.
