yeah, I didn't think...I figured hey a gun guy selling to a gun guy and got my FFL info to ship the Colt to me...well after some emails and letting him know ATF and his local Sheriff dept in WV has this issue in their hands now, I got my money back.

I really would like to know how many people he scammed out of $1,000 for a NIB COLT LE6920 restricted with rollmarks and letter from colt.

what a real POS. but hey I learned almost the hard way. Was my first time buying online and my last for a firearm. Unless its through a company.

You answered my question but gave a less then helpful reply.

Can one use a FFL to broker the transaction? Send the money to the FFL instead of a random unknown person? Though it seems to me that by the time you pay shipping, paypal, and FFL fees it wouldn't be worth it unless it was something rare.

Yes, but still not a good idea with Armslsit, use Gunbroker for FFL to FFL shipping. I have only used Gunbroker 5 or 6 times and always had good luck.

I’ve bought and sold several guns on Armslist but as others have said Armslist is for ftf transactions similar to Craigslist. I’d never consider sending money to someone on that site the ones that aren’t local and won’t meet ftf are the scammers, it’s full of people that take pictures, descriptions, and serial numbers if they can get them from Gunbroker, Guns America ect; and then post them on Armslist as though it is theirs asking you to send the money and will pull similar scams when asking buy your firearm.
I’m glad that you got your money back.
