I picked up a very nice Hi Power back when everyone was panic selling guns to buy AR's, trying to get in before the ban.
Mine is a '73. I've had it for years, and earlier this year finally removed the magazine disconnect. Tremendous improvement in trigger pull and feel!

I think they were one of the first handguns in the U.S. to use a high capacity magazine which made the grip thicker than a 1911 and people weren't used to it. Then there was the infamous hammer bite. plus you can get some sweet G10 Pachmayr's for dirt cheap on ebay
