PSA Upper & Ruger Lower for AR-15

Anybody know of any compatibility problems between a PSA upper & Ruger lower? Thinking of building an AR with this combo.

Should be no compatibility issues unless one of them is a proprietary design, should both be mil spec

Thanks for the replies, guys. Bud's finally lifted the "Reserved for Team Bud's" restriction off the Ruger MPR, so that's what I ordered. Interested to see what $562 buys nowadays. My first AR was an A2 configuration DPMS, bought about 20 years ago, and i think I paid about $700 for it (I didn't know any better).

Ha! I hear ya. That was a decent price back then. There were only about 3 manufacturers available. DPMS, Stag, and Colt.

Well, my Bushmaster (made in Windham, Maine) before bought by Cerberus Capital Management, is well over 30 yrs old..

and today's AR's are a much better buy than they were even 10yrs.ago..
now, a decent AR can be had for not much more than a .22 decent rimfire rifle.

now, a decent AR can be had for not much more than a .22 decent rimfire rifle.

If you're willing to invest a couple hours and some basic hand tools, you can buy a complete PSA Freedom rifle kit (everything you need except the stripped lower receiver, and the upper is already completely assembled) for $289.99 to $299.99 (I see 11 different kits listed right now) plus shipping and sales tax. Then all you need is a $39.99 stripped lower, shipping, sales tax and an FFL transfer.

So you're talking ~$400 for an entry level AR-15 rifle.

I looked at all the stuff on PSA's site, and came up with what approximated the MPR, which is what I wanted. When Bud's released the MPR, I ordered it. Buying the MPR was cheaper than I could have built the clone I had come up with.

Understood.

The PSA equivalent of assembling a "Ruger MPR" (18" barrel, free float M-LOK handguard, Magpul stock & grips, low profile gas block, etc.) would have run you right about the same amount ($560 OTD including transfer) , but would have included a SS barrel, the EPS trigger and the front and rear MBUS.

As long as you're happy, that's all that matters.
