Red dot sight on pistol no rear sights..

I’m seeing more and more pistols with some form of reflex sight on them, and I think it’s a good thing..

I’ve grown very comfortable shooting this way..

But something I’ve noticed is a lot of these guns are now coming out and it looks like they have entirely removed the rear sights..

Am I misunderstanding this? Am I not seeing it correctly? Is this a good thing?

I get that you can use the dot in lieu of Traditional sights on a pistol but is it wrong to still want those sights?

Perhaps I’m just not ready to give up my old 3 dots yet..

Anyone with knowledge on the topic want to provide some more guidance, advice, insight?

Most common is suppressor height sights to be able to co-witness with the red dot. (redundancy) I haven't seen any that I recall with no rear sight, but I'm admittedly new to the pistol RDS game.
It may be a thing now to leave that off the slide entirely, but I couldn't tell you the pros versus cons of that thought process.
Rear sight is out of focus, but you get the point:

It would fine on a range, game pistol.

Mine has suppressor height sights on it along with a Trijicon RMR, they co-witness perfectly, it's by far the most fun pistol I have to shoot.

Getting old eyes, purchased my first red-dot pistol site yesterday.I went with a vortex venom in 3 Moa for my Ruger 57.They had them on sale for $179 plus tax I figured why not it had decent reviews. Not for self defense more of a plinking/range gun.

The Sig Romeo sight that is somewhat proprietary to their guns has a traditional iron sight built into the optic. It is hard to notice it from the side view, but it is there.

I have an Rmsc mounted on my P365. I had the slide milled for it. I absolutely love it. The rmsc has a rear backup sight on the optic, and it does cowitness with my front iron sight... After getting a no. 8 height front post.

The romeo I have on my Xcarry does not co witness at all. Honestly pointless in my opinion.
