Anyone can take the class online here https://www.hunter-ed.com/michigan/ Then go here https://www2.dnr.state.mi.us/recnsearch/ and schedule your field day.

It's interesting that the DNR is OK with the website charging $28.95 for the class....

I saw that and thought that we could mimmick it, maybe cheaper.
MGO doesn't need to get rich off of offering education classes. It's what we're supposed to be doing!

I always wondered how the kid that can't afford to take Hunter Safety class can afford to get a deer license from the state of Michigan.

I have a question about this. The Q&A section on the first link says "The Temporary Hunter Education Certificate you printed in step 2 serves as your permanent certificate and allows you to legally purchase a hunting license or permit where required." So if this is all you need to get a license, why do you need to schedule a field day? Also, the online class only mentions printing your temporary certificate which serves as your permanent certificate (This makes no sense, why is it called temporary if it is permanent?). Do you get a physical hunters safety card in the mail?
