Cleaning out my "firearm stuff" boxes and I'm trying to figure out what this holster was made for. It was a holster that my Dad had. He had several cousins that worked for the Detroit PD so I'm speculating that's where it might have came from. Tried putting my S&W 17-3 in it but it's too narrow in the barrel area. Looking online it looks like DPD through the years have carried S&W Model 10s, Colt Police Positives and Colt Official Police revolvers, all which had tapered/pencil barrel versions.
On the back side of the holster I can make out what looks to be an address on Macomb St. in Detroit. Numbers look to be 756 or possibly 1756. That would put the shop in the vicinity of where Greektown Casino is now so it was made right here in Detroit.
Any knowledgeable folks here got any solid info?
