    GP 100

Just picked up a used Ruger GP100 in 357 Mag. It has the fixed front sight that is pinned to the barrel. Hoping to find a fiber optic for it, but all I can find is the push in type that goes with the adj. rear.

I have a SP 101 that has a sight similar to it, & I wonder if it's the same sight.

Williams gun sight has made a ton of Rugers OEM sights, but I am not sure if the GP 100 used their sight. A call to them should get you an answer and replacement

Mine does not have a rear sight. And there lies the difference. You PUSH a pin on the end of the barrel to release the sight. Mine has a roll pin that has to be PUNCHED out. The replacement sight then needs to be drilled to accept the pin.

here's some info for you (old though...2014) to look into, I'm over on the ruger forum a bit and figure that's where you need to ask.

By the way, that Tool Tech that is mentioned is in Oxford, MI., so at least in state.

Maybe other options in this search:

Last fall I had Magna Port install a orange insert in the front blade of my S&W hunting revolver. I wasn't able to tell from pics in op's original post in newest firearms how large sight blade is, but it might be worth checking with them. They edm the blade without removing it from the gun. The insert makes the visability of the front sight better by many multiples.
