Correct. The Michigan penal code specifically states that a purchaser or seller both reference another person that performs the act i.e. a purchaser gets from another person and a seller gives to another person respectively. There is no other person involved in this case since you are building one yourself and you cannot have yourself listed as both a purchaser AND seller.

The thoughts on NFA stuff is just in the periphery of the subject being discussed, regardless of the title. The op was/is looking to build a pistol first, then possibly building it into an SBR.
