Set it up with a dealer here before you go. Take a copy of his license with you (the dealer there will need it to ship the firearm) and your gun will be waiting for you when you get home.

Correct. All that happens in the other state is money changing hands.

As long as you are inspecting it in person should not be a big deal. You pay in person. They you see the gun when you get home. You aren't going more than a week probably and many online orders from big shops takes three days, then a couple days to get to ffl.

It's honestly not much diff than if you stayed home and ordered it off gun broker. Just a lot of driving from Tennessee and back home.
