    Thoughts on P365 SAS?

Just wondering if anyone has had any actual trigger time behind the P365 SAS? Thoughts? Comments? Complaints? Reviews?

Just draw and dry fire time. Unless it's going to be 100% pocket carried where sights could snag, the sighting system is problematic. Any presentation angle of a normal gun the front sight is visible. Point shooting is a breeze in close quarters, and it's very easy to reference that front sight. Not so with the SAS. It's similar to red dot where you have to be on the right angle to see it.

+1 on the practicality or lack of practicality of these sights.. I prefer regular sights over red dots for the exact same reason.. for a 7 to 10 yards quick shooting, I prefer to gage the front sight as I am presenting the gun and have it placed in the vicinity of the rear sight during presentation and I am usually in the center mass 90% of the time.. If you shoot IDPA or any other action pistol competition that is what is usually the technique to cut on drawing, presentation and first double tab shot time..I would find it (for me) extremely difficult to have the same efficiency with a red dot or the P365 SAS sighing system.. As GreaseMonkey SRT mentioned, you have to be disciplined enough to present the gun with the right angle, and that means a lot of muscle memory training and to have the discipline to stick to one platform with a specific grip angle.. Something that I lack big time on, as I like to shoot my handguns from different platforms with different grip angles..

Owned one. Hated it. Traded it for a regular P365. I shoot the standard P365 much better.

I never fired one but handled it at the counter. It seemed it would be difficult to acquire the sights quickly IMO.

My BIL has one. We both shot it. Would be ok for a belly gun. Not even remotely a range gun. It's for sale if anyone's interested.

MAC did a video on it. IIRC he had QC issued with the sight.

Thanks, everybody. Much appreciated. I think I've gathered enough feedback to make the right decision.
