    10/22 receiver cleaning hole

Hi, I'm trying to find measurements for drilling a cleaning hole in the back of a 10/22 receiver without buying a guide for a one time job.
    Thanks

Gunsmither sells one. I just use a bore snake.

I know that isn't what you asked but you may gain some insight as to what is involved..if you don't already know.

I have the proper jig somewhere in the toy box.

I'm off work for a while (Covidcation), so we could arrange to meet if you wanted to borrow it. I used it to drill my receivers; works fantastic.

Well I found a couple of different specs, got out the calipers and drill and went for it. Ended up centering .8 inches from bottom, center side to side and 1/4 inch hole. Very carefully. Looks good and lines up. Thanks

First one I did I ended up running a piece of welding rod down the bore and used it to create a witness mark in the Dykem I painted on the inside of the action. Remove the barrel, carefully drill from the inside....

The hole allows cleaning from the breech in stead of the muzzle.
Running your rod down the bore from the muzzle risks causing damage to the crown destroying the accuracy potential of your firearm, and keeps crude from being pushed into the working parts. Cleaning from the breech is recommended whenever possible no matter what gun you have.
