Seems like a lot of work when an Otis kit allows for the same thing, without the drawbacks of a boresnake. Stainless wire covered in plastic with brass ends, works great.

Not sure... need to pull an action and see what I'm working with.
Perhaps make a slide in plate (like the back of a Glock slide), or just turn out a small disk on the lathe that ball detents into the action. Maybe a 1/4 turn plug, should be ample action material for that.
