Couldn't you build something similar with PSA parts for much cheaper? Like less than $700?

In fact I have most of the part necessary already!

Look at the upper again. The barrel separates from the receiver.
If PSA made something similar they would sell a million of them. After the patent infringement case, of course.

I understand that. Are there any other parts that do something like this. I know there is a part that you can fold the stock over...are there any parts to build...key words from my original post "something similar"?

I didn't say the exact same thing, but something close. Are there other options for removing the barrel?

PSA does not sell a folding buffer tube that I am aware of.

There is no way they can do it the exact same as the midwest rifle with out some sort of licensing agreement, if you just meant in general PSA could come up with some sort of folding, or take down barrel for something in the 700s, thats not too crazy. But they would likely have to come up with their own way, and I assume the easy, simpler stuff has already been done and patented, so then again .. maybe there is no way psa could do it.

Look at some of the prices for folders or mechanisms for take down barrels its well into the hundreds by itself.

Some where in the videos, or reviews, they said they are being built entirely from "off the shelf" parts.

You should be able to build the same thing if you do enough research.

Gee whizz, psa sells other people's products. I've been researching and there are other options for quick barrel changes, they are just expensive

There’s no reason you couldn’t build this pistol yourself and no reason why PSA couldn’t build it as well. Cry Havoc sells the QRB attachment to the general public for $375.

The only problem I see is that the barrel extension has to be able to slide freely in and out of the upper receiver. So you may have to go through a few uppers to find one that has a little slop.

Here’s a video by Cry Havoc on how to install the QRB.

Now I am confused, you are suggesting you can buy this from PSA for $700, or a similar for the upper or the lower?

If you meant the lower, sure.

If you meant the upper and lower I do not see how you are going to get an $1150 rifle for $700.

Maybe the devil is in the details what you mean by something and similar.

Looks like a person could build an sba3 pistol lower with the FAB folding grip and assemble an upper with the CryHavoc QRB and be pretty close. Or am I seeing this wrong?
