    Powder Coat

    Has anyone ever had a pistol Powder Coated?

    I have not, but it's a pretty thick coating for a gun. Would be good for beater gun stock though.

    I wouldn't think that powder coating could be applied thin enough that you wouldn't run into tolerance problems on things like guns. I've had quite a few parts powder coated for my Chevelle, and if any of it gets into threads or holes that have tight tolerances or need bushings, I've had to tap threads and re-drill holes.

    powder coat is too thick. It will affect function. Dumb idea.

    sig aluminum frames are "hard anodized" which I think is like powder coating, their process might be different compared to a roof rack on your jeep, or boat part though.

    I would just get cerakote thats what is easy and common.
