These two are dangerous. They are being sponsored by the same 20 dimwitocrats, and will seriously tear up concealed carry rights.

The first bill alters MCL 750.234d by adding "A building owned or leased by this state or that part of a building owned or leased by this state." which by itself is not catastrophic. But then they strike out "This section does not apply to any of the following: <-snip-> A person licensed by this state or another state to carry a concealed weapon.. That is going to mess up a bunch of things, you will not be able to carry in a church, you will not be able to carry in ANY place that is licensed under the Michigan Liqueur Control Commission.

The second bill adds to the injury by altering MCL 28.425o and adding "A building owned or leased by this state or that part of a building owned or leased by this state." to the list of places that you can not carry concealed.

    These two have to die.

This leaves the concept, "If they are not doing anything wrong, what are they afraid of?"

I think they were trying to kill the ability to open carry with a CPL in the schools, stadiums, etc. but the way they did it opens a whole can of worms, that they don't give a rip about. If it makes life for gun owners difficult they view that as a feature, not a bug.
