For sheer aftermarket parts you can't beat the Glock line.
I agree the Sig P320 line is starting to take off in the aftermarket, and a lot of offerings are possible.

Here are some off the wall suggestions:
Get polymer 80 kit and put in whatever trigger/spring mechanisms you want https://www.polymer80.com/pistol-fra...ild-shoot-kits
Faxon Firearms makes some Gucci Glocks https://faxonfirearms.com/fx-19-pistols/
Consider the Warrior Poet branded handgun https://www.sportsmansguide.com/event?key=warrior-poet
    Get the SIG X5 Legion - I have one, it's great. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/p320-xfive-legion.html
Get a P320 and modify it - (apex trigger bar, Grey Guns trigger, etc) - I personally like the feel of the Wilson Combat P320 grip more than the others.

What did it end up costing total?

You can build your own P320 from scratch.
I sell the 80% MUP-1, and I have factory sig stripped FCUs.

Bass Pro ran a special on a FDE X-Carry with Romeo1 about a year ago for $650. I really don't recall the exact prices on the accessories as I grabbed them here and there, but all in I'm sure I'm less than $800-850.

Seems like a really good price. M17 goes for $650 retail typically. If you know a guy it’s a little cheaper

I just picked up a Canik TP9SFx for the same reasons you are looking for. I don't have it yet but it might fit the bill for you. They come stock ready for comp and have Red Dot mounts ready to go. I did find some nice after market triggers for it as well.

It was a great deal at the time. Seems like it was a Bass Pro/Cabelas exclusive.

Kinda forgot about the Canik, though I’ve heard mixed reviews on reliability. You’ll have to let me know how you like it

Will do. From everything I have read and people I trust to be honest in reviews (haven't failed me yet) its a great gun in the price range. Most of the issues I have seen is from ammo I wouldn't buy in the 1st place. The only issues I have seen is stove piping but after a break in stops SPing. The 1st bit of ammo I am going to run is 115gr rem target which is the weight most of the SPing seems to happen at so we will find out.
