It has been reported elsewhere on this forum that there are many holes in the state's pistol purchase registration database.
Things don't get entered. They get lost in the mail...etc.

If you ask for a list of your pistol purchases in the state's database you may find some missing entries. So what?

I don't disagree with any of that. I was just drawing a parallel.

If you're telling someone you put it in an envelope and mailed it, the person you are likely telling is a cop doing an investigation. Then you just lied.

Whether they can prove you lied (highly unlikely) isn't part of my parallel
The Constitution is NOT dead. It's just being held captive.

    Then your parallel is meaningless.

And he wasn't convicted. He plead guilty. Because they threatened to go after his son.

Are you going to plead guilty when they can't prove you didn't mail it? Are they going to go after your son?

Oh for heaven's sake- transfer it from one spouse to the next. As long as both spouses can legally own a firearm that is.
Fill out the RI-060 with today's date.
Send it in if they are nervous.
I'm about 99.99999999999 ad infinitum that the MSP or local LE Agency has no ability to backtrack if an original one was sent in.

I think it is time to just turn yourselves in and demand a jury of your peers. Settle for nothing less than time in a cell. And a mandatory contribution to a charity of CHAZ's choosing.

    Lol

I was going to suggest selling it, but I kind of like your idea also.

I mail mine all the time. Do they make it? Who knows.

Do they check up on you? Nope. I have four, or five, unused forms in my shop. Get a couple before a gun show just in case, and then didn't use one or both. Done this more than once. No boogeyman showed up.

Have some old green forms too.

FYI. I just sold a pistol. The police dept where the purchaser sent the paperwork for registration contacted me and said there is no record of me registering it when I bought it 5 years ago. Fortunately, I keep copies of all of that paperwork. I copied my copy and sent it to them. So, the database is not perfect, has many holes in it, etc, etc.

You could have told them to go pound sand. "I mailed it in." That's all you were required to do. It's not your fault that THEY lost it.
