I'm hoping to get a .300blk rifle for home defense in November. By then I'd like to think the cost per round will drop from $0.75 a round as it is now. In an old YouTube video someone said $0.50 a round was a good price, how true was that?

I've been into 300 blackout for about two years. I have always been on the lookout for rounds under .50 a round. It was true then and still is true. Did a quick search - .50 a round still seems to be the floor.
All the best,

I haven't seen prices go up. Availability may be down, but that's it.
I don't think I have seen anything under .45 per round on sale.
My reloading cost has been about .20 per round.

Just over 1 year ago (6/1/19), I paid 50 cents per round for some Magtech 123 Grain FMJ in 50 round boxes from SGAMMO. Including tax and shipping, it worked out to about 55 cents per round delivered.
Today, that exact same ammo on SGAMMO.COM is 70 cents per round, plus tax and shipping (although they are out of stock).
I used to pick up Sellier & Bellot 200g subs around .55/round. No longer.
Seriously considering the reloading route, Draken. Wow.
If at first you don't succeed, don't skydive.
I don't reload to save money, I reload to make rounds my guns like. Some rounds (like plinking 300BO) you can save a lot on, but reloading 9mm its very little savings. All 3 of my presses have paid for themselves, but not by loading only 1000 a year, its from loading several thousand per year.
Ammoseek is showing the cheapest price being 0.75 a round, where are you guys finding it for less right now?
